Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Hutte Builder LLC ("Hütte Builder," "we," "us") collects when you use huttebuilder.com and the Hütte Builder portal (together, the "Service"), why, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account details. Your name, email address and password, handled by our website platform, Wix.
Billing details. Your plan, payment dates and amounts. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store them.
Project information you enter. Jobs, budgets, costs, change orders, invoices, vendors, crew and schedules.
Files you upload. Receipts, bills, plans and drawings, and vendor insurance or workers' compensation certificates. These can contain names, addresses and policy numbers of other businesses and people.
Messages you send us. Through our contact forms or by email.
Basic usage data. Pages visited, device and browser type, collected by Wix's standard site cookies.
2. How we use it
We use this information to run the portal and show your information back to you; to read uploaded receipts, bills and certificates automatically so you don't have to type them in (see section 3); to bill your plan and send receipts, trial and renewal reminders and service emails; to answer your questions; and to keep the Service secure. We may also send occasional tips about using Hütte Builder, and you can unsubscribe from these at any time.
3. Automatic document reading (AI)
When you upload a receipt, bill or insurance certificate and choose to have it read, the file is sent to Anthropic, PBC, which provides the Claude AI model, to pull out dates, amounts, line items and policy details. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, it may not use this content to train its models. The results are suggestions: always check them before saving. If you'd rather not use this feature, choose "Type it in instead."
4. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share information only in these cases:
Service providers. Wix.com (website hosting, accounts, file storage and email), our payment processor, and Anthropic (document reading). They may use it only to provide these services to us.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Hütte Builder, our users or others.
Business transfers. If Hütte Builder is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Who can see your projects
Only you, through your own login. Our staff access your data only to provide support you ask for, to fix a problem, or when the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If your plan ends, we keep your projects for 12 months so you can come back to them, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your account and data sooner at any time. We keep billing records as long as tax law requires.
7. Your choices and rights
You can see and edit your project information in the portal. To get a copy of your data or have it deleted, email info@huttebuilder.com. We'll respond within 30 days. Depending on your state, you may have more rights, such as correction or opting out of certain uses, and we honor those requests for everyone.
8. Security
Your projects are stored in collections that only our server code can reach, and each request is checked against your login. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password.
9. Children
Hütte Builder is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before the change takes effect and update the date above.
